Tommy Ray Combs Sr., 67, of Milton, WV, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at home. He was born September 13, 1953, in Covington, KY, a son of the late Clayton Combs and Lila Mae (Cornett) Combs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Pauline Haney, Glendora Combs and Eunice Derringer; four brothers, Larry Combs, Darrell Combs, Billy Jack Combs and Robert Combs; and brothers-in-law, Tom Goodpastor and Mel Haney. Tommy was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Fraziers Bottom, WV.He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Mount Healthy, OH, served his country in the United States Marine Corps and retired from Simplex Grinell as an inspector. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Joy Michelle (Achter) Combs of Milton; children, Tommy Ray Jr. (Dannielle) Combs of Bright, IN, Laurie Dawn (Steve) Kohl of Nicholasville, KY, Tonya Renee Combs of Cincinnati, OH, Sarah Lynn (Jake Leibrock) Combs of Milton, Matthew Clayton Combs of Brookville, IN, Andrew Landon Amburgy of Milton, Adam Matthew (Ashley) Amburgy of Cincinnati, and Kara Mae (Colby DeWitt) Combs of Milton; 19 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.He is also survived by brothers, Donald (Sue) Combs of Redington Beach, FL and Charles (Jeanie) Combs of Sunman, IN; sisters, Norma Goodpastor of Milan, IN and Sharon Combs of Sunman, IN; sister-in-law, Karen Combs of Aurora, IN; multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of friends. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021, at the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Fraziers Bottom, with Pastor Chuck Elkins officiating.Military honors will be given by the Marine Honor Guard and American Legion Milton Post 139.
