Velma Louise (Anderson) Siders, 82, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Holzer Medical Center- Hospice, Jackson, OH, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born March 8, 1944, in Letart, WV, a daughter of the late Samuel C. and Edna (Pickens) Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Edith, Elva, Margaret; seven brothers, Homer, Oshel, Andy, Otho, Otmer, Ray, Roy and father-in-law, Harry Siders of Gallipolis Ferry, WV.

She was an Alumni of Wahama High School, class of 1962. She worked many years ago at Shoney’s Restaurant. She loved working in her flower gardens, feeding and watching birds, especially hummingbirds. She was a big fan of Elvis Presley and a fan of Bill Elliott and NASCAR Racing.

She was a loving wife to Don L. Siders of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; children, Jeannie (Tony) Sayre of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Tami Hubbard (Bill Fridley) of Point Pleasant, WV; stepson, Junior (Carrie) Siders of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; grandchildren, Danny (Claire) Watson II of Elm Springs, AR, Christopher (Kaylee) Harmon of Leon, WV, Mariah Harmon (Jon Dean) of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Dakota (Paxton) Harmon of Point Pleasant, WV, Colton Fridley of Point Pleasant, WV, Blake Siders and Cody Siders of Gallipolis Ferry, WV.

She was a “granny” to her grandchildren, and she loved and adored her 13 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by sisters, Ruth Seymour of Columbus, OH, Ellen Egnor of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Billie Tennant of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Blanche Siders (Park) McKellop of Point Pleasant, WV; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Joanne Siders of Point Pleasant, WV; special extended family, Michaela Flannery and Little Ellie.

Service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, WV, with Pastor Mark Polly officiating. Burial will follow at Beech Hill Cemetery, Southside, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 12 p.m. until time of the service on Sunday, at the funeral home.
