Vera Lynn Buffington

Vera Lynn (Smith) Buffington, 57, of Letart, WV, died Monday, December 2, 2013, at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born July 9, 1956, in Alliance, Ohio, a daughter of the late John William Smith and Naomi Maxine (Hill) Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Edward Buffington; two sons, John Buffington, and John Lawrence Buffington; one brother, John Smith; and one sister, Susan Gelmini. Vera is survived by her children, Ruby Buffington of Letart, WV, Tammy Sue (Moses) Hinton of Cleveland, OH, Lynn (Michael) Tack of Cleveland, and Andrew (Glenna) Miller of Lower Salem, OH; and eleven grandchildren. Also, surviving are five sisters, Martha (Joe) Huff of Minerva, OH, Kathy (Larry) Welling of Sebring, OH, Norine (Ronald) Riggs of Sebring, June (Jim) Ullman of Sebring, and Ruth (Mike) Negron of New York, NY; and four brothers, Ronnie (Cindy) Smith of Sebring, Curtis (Jamie) Smith of Sebring, Steven (Holly) Smith of Alliance, and Greg (Toni) Smith of Sebring; and a special friend Betty Hivey of Letart. There will be private services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Wilcoxen Funeral Home of Point Pleasant is in charge of arrangements.
