Vernon Edward Jones Sr.

Vernon Edward Jones Sr., 82, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away Monday, November 2, 2026, at home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 11, 1944, in Michigan, a son of the late Marvin Gail and Virginia Reba (Morrison) Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Minerva Jones and Rebecca Kidwell.

Vernon was a 1962 graduate of Point Pleasant High School and retired from Gavin Power Plant as a Machinist. He was a member of Hickory Chapel Community Church in Point Pleasant, WV, and was a long-time farmer.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Barbara Ann (Edwards) Jones; daughters, Patricia Gail Green (Dana) of Bidwell, OH, Sherry Ann Adams (James Andrew) of Litchfield, KY; son, Vernon Edward Jones Jr. (Jodi) of Bidwell, OH; grandchildren, Alisha Stewart (Zachary) of Bidwell, OH, Derek Green (Kendra) of Bidwell, OH, Tommy Adams of Litchfield, KY, Kenny Adams (Kristelle) of Litchfield, KY, Josie (Ian) Eblin of Addison, OH, Seth Jones of Bidwell, OH, Lydia Jones of Bidwell, OH; great grandchildren, Ashton Stewart, Owen Green, Isabella Green and Benny Adams.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Creston Cemetery, Evans, WV, with Pastor Mark Oliver officiating.
