Virginia Aileen Watterson

Virginia Aileen Watterson, 99, of Apple Grove, WV, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Pleasant Valley Hospital. She was born January 25, 1914, in Ashton, WV, a daughter of the late Harvey Sturgeon and Mary Ethel (Reese) Sturgeon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold D. Watterson; a grandson, Troy McQueen; a son-in-law, Russell McQueen; two sisters, Lucille Richardson and Mary Lambert; and two brothers, Harvey Junior Sturgeon and Marc Sturgeon. Virginia is survived by one daughter, Amanda "Mandy" McQueen of Ashton, WV; a son, Arnold "Eddie" Watterson of Apple Grove; two granddaughters, Tonya McQueen and Angela Nowlin and companion Rickey Stover; great grandchildren, A.J. and Nikki Powell, Trent and Sarah Doss, Troy Doss, Darren McQueen, Nichole Frye, Chris (Alicia) Spears, Nathan and McKenzie McQueen, and Donvan Nowlin; seven great great grandchildren, Ali Powell; Logan, Braydon, and Myah McQueen; and Christopher, Cameron, and Aubry Spears; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Brenda Allen; and a host of friends from Ashton and Jerry's Run. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Max Spurlock and Pastor Charlie Langdon officiating. Burial will follow at the Beale Chapel Cemetery in Apple Grove. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
