Walter Denver Ridenour Jr., 88, of Leon, WV, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2026, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV.

He was born February 13, 1938, in Mason County, WV, a son of the late Walter Denver and Sylvia (Durst) Ridenour. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his best friend and loving wife of 66 years, Patty Lou Ridenour and brother, Harold Ridenour.

Walter was a 1956 graduate of Point Pleasant High School. He served his country faithfully for 20 years in both the United States Army and United States Navy, ending his service as Machinist First Class. Walter retired from the Maintenance Department at Goodyear-Shell in Apple Grove with 22 years of service. He was a proud owner and operator of his 107-acre farm where he raised Angus cattle, donkeys and chickens. Walter enjoyed gardening and working on the farm. He was Christian by faith.

Survivors include his loving daughters, #1 Beverly (Andy) Fetty of Pomeroy, OH, #2 Monica (Donnie) Smith of Cincinnati, OH, #3 Charlotte (Steven) Norvell of Leon, WV, #4 Amy (Randy) McGuire of Oak Hill, OH; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and their fur baby, Susie.

Services will be private. He will be laid to rest alongside the love of his life at Roc-N-R Farm, Leon, WV.
