William Thomas Burris

William Thomas Burris, 70, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, died Sunday, January 5, 2014, at Pleasant Valley Hospital, in Point Pleasant. He was born May 3, 1943, in Apple Grove, WV, a son of the late Lawrence Elmer Burris and Ina Gertrude (Persinger) Burris. William attended Pleasant View Church, and had worked at the WV Malleable Iron Company, and retired from Williamson Pallet. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Burris; and two brothers, Hugh Burris and Jona Earl Burris. William is survived by his wife, Coletta Vera (Duncan) Burris; three daughters, Lisa (Timothy) Merry of Bidwell, OH, Angel (Anthony "Jay") Wallace of Apple Grove, and Erica (Joseph) Black of Gallipolis Ferry; four grandchildren, Shaeden Black, Shaddix Black, Savion Black, and Cash Wallace; a brother, Lawrence Eugene Burris of Apple Grove; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Pastor Roger Bonecutter officiating. Burial will follow at Beale Chapel Cemetery in Apple Grove. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service Wednesday, at the funeral home.
