Winona Lynn McKinney

Winona Lynn "Noni" (Wilcoxen) McKinney, 73, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on Tuesday,  November 25, 2025, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV.  

Winona was born July 23, 1952, in Gallipolis, OH.  She was the dutiful daughter of the late Loraine Lee Wilcoxen and Mary Frances (Eads) Wilcoxen.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Roger "Reed" McKinney II, and her sister, Anna (David) Morris.  

Winona was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1970 and faithful attendee of New Hope Bible Baptist Church.  Winona dedicated her life to comforting others as they grieved the loss of their loved ones.  She worked as the secretary of the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV, for over 40 years, honoring her parents legacy.  She was loyal, caring, and hardworking, and compassionate.  

Winona enjoyed antiquing, visiting Amish Country, and summer beach vacations.  She loved spending time with family and watching her granddaughters compete in sports.  In her final years, she loved sitting on her front porch with family and her faithful companion, Murphy. 

Winona is survived by her husband of 54 years, Roger McKinney of Point Pleasant, WV; her sisters, Barbara Casto of Greenville, SC, and Tina (Barry) Barnette of Spartanburg, SC; her children, Monica (David) Thomas and Nick (Heather) McKinney; three granddaughters, Madelyn Thomas, Sophia Thomas, and Isabella McKinney; and "bonus brother," Richard Green.   

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.  A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday, November 30, 2025 with Pastor Dean Warner officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702.
