Roger Lee Halstead, 58, of Southside, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, OH.He was born January 21, 1956, the son of the late Ronald Halstead and Eithel (Eckard) Halstead.Roger was employed with 25 years of service, with Guardsmark as a security guard supervisior at M & G Polymers. He was also a farmer. He enjoyed attending auctions, visiting flea markets and was a Christian.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin and Donald Halstead.He is survived by his loving and devoted fiancee, Martha A. Fout of Gallipolis Ferry; his special family that loved him and that he loved, Ruth Fout, Mary and Lester Putney, Stephanie Putney, Brent Bush, Philip and Amy Putney, special little great niece, Ember Jade Putney; his pal, Holly; two close nephews, Dean and Keith Halstead, along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.A funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Pastor Ted Nance and Pastor Julio Camcho officiating. Burial will follow at Beale Chapel Cemetery in Apple Grove. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
